I used to say that I’m not an ‘exercise’ person or that I’m not a ‘gym’ person. Well, I still say that but Taylor Made is neither of those things to me. It’s simply a way of life for me. Before joining TM, I would sit at a nearby café on Saturday mornings, observing a group of sweaty people full of laughter as they socialised over a cup of coffee. After struggling with my motivation to improve my health and fitness for many years, I joined Taylor Made PT and shortly after that, the 9 week bootcamp to stop making excuses for myself and to kickstart my fitness journey. Since the beginning of the 9 week challenge, I have made dramatic changes to my fitness levels, weight and overall feeling of wellbeing.

I started the challenge barely able to run 2km without stopping and struggled so badly with the test at the beginning of the classes that I was unsure whether I would be able to complete it at all. Although the new exercises were daunting at first, the trainers stressed the importance of correct form and technique and actively assisted everyone who needed corrections.

My first major fitness milestone was running a half hour 5km about 4 weeks into the course and completing my first 10km upon completion of the course. I have also experienced an overall improvement in all exercises I undertook with my personal trainer and during group classes.

The results I achieved were aided through the guidance of the trainers and the facilities and classes available at Taylor Made Personal Training. My motivation and results improved throughout the program and I am very thankful for the encouragement and help I received from the team.

First of all I just want to say how happy I am that I joined TMPT and competed in the 9 week challenge.

Before the challenge I was probaby the most unfit I have been in last few years. I was unhappy with not only how I looked but also how I felt. I was constantly sluggish and had no motivation.

After only a few weeks I noticed a difference, I was already feeling more energised and stronger. Not only from my training but also from changing my diet. One of the most motivating parts of the challenge is competing with others and working with others as well as against myself to get into better shape. The trainers constantly push me to push myself to my limit whilst making sure I always use the correct technique. Most importantly the make sure I am letting my body recover during training sessions. I love the fact that the challenge is judged also on how many sessions you make and how much work you put in. That helps me get up every morning when my alarm goes off, knowing if I don't make a session or if I don't put in the hard work I am letting myself down.

On an emotional level I have gained much more confidence, not only in how I look but how I feel.

The challenge helped me to discover my strength and abilities by pushing me out of my comfort zone and turning all my 'what ifs' to 'what is'. I feel the strongest and fittest I have ever felt in my life. I have no plans to stop doing what I am doing this will now become a way of life.

I have worked with Taylor Made Personal Training for close to 5 years. When I first met Taylor I was not only overweight I was obese! I needed to lose 40kg to be within a healthy weight range for my height.

Taylor Made PT's approach is very much everything in moderation. I don't have to give up all the foods I love, I just needed to have less of the sweets and junk food than what I was consuming, to set goals and to work towards something. For me it was a variety of goals. Like breaking through the 100kg barrier or being able to buy jeans in the regular section of the store, rather than in the plus sizes.

I remember a particular training session that we did whereby I had a backpack on my back containing a 10kg weight, a quarter of the extra body weight I had carried around with me for a very long time. I ran upstairs, boxed, you name it, with this extra weight that I had been carrying around with me for close to 20 years. I will never forget the heaviness I felt with that extra weight on. Whilst I have reached the top of the mountain and shed close to 40 kg, I know that I will always need to be mindful of my daily training and what foods I put in my mouth.

Thanks to Taylor Made PT who helped me save my life with shedding the weight over a number of years, I now know not only how to train but I have the education to maintain a healthy diet with the occasional treat every now and then.

For someone who always saw herself as the ‘fat kid’ I have even competed as well as finished half a dozen fun runs over the last couple of years. I barely recognise the person that I see in photos to the one I know see in the mirror.

Thank you Taylor Made PT, I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement. You helped me to regain my life, my self respect and my self confidence. I can't put a price on that.
